What's Happening at Grant Elementary!
PRINCIPAL'S MESSAGE FROM SHANNON DAHL
t's that time of the year where school becomes a little more stressful, scholars are more easily frustrated and everyone feels tired! You might be asking "What can I do to help my child?" We have 6 areas of social emotional learning we focus on in schools:
Grant Elementary scholars played hard during our Tiger Party on Monday! This quarterly celebration recognizes students who consistently demonstrate our three school standards: Show Respect, Make Good Choices and Solve Problems. When they do these three things they are “okay” and in their “upstairs brain.”
Thank you to the many Grant Elementary Families that came to participate in last night's family night. Our focus was social studies and we worked on lots of cool projects. We built Native American Totem Poles to tell our family history, we practiced traditional dances from other cultures, played the Mancala game from Africa, created kindness paper chains and learned about Martin Luther King, Jr. and made a related craft. It was a great night. Make plans to join us next month on February 21 where we'll focus on STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Math). Watch for more information as we get closer to that date!
